From algorithmic trading and digital public infrastructures to police logistics, Agate is building strong collaborations that bring algorithmic game theory into real-world applications.
One of Agate's key missions is to connect cutting-edge research with real-world challenges. During its first year, the Centre significantly expanded its network of non-academic partners and launched several promising collaborations in both the public and private sectors.
Agate continues to strengthen its long-standing cooperation with EquiLibre Technologies, where collaboration now focuses primarily on team building, education, and knowledge exchange. The partnership has also contributed to the successful DYCOSAGT Marie Skłodowska-Curie Staff Exchanges project, further extending AGATE's international research network.
Another important direction is the development of Digital Public Infrastructures, including topics such as fair representation, personal AI assistants competing with robust systems, e-justice, fair access to digital services, logistics, evaluation systems, and the role of autonomous systems in public infrastructures. Agate is beginning to identify what should be done and how to initiate applied research in these areas while building the interdisciplinary teams needed for future collaborations.
The most advanced applied collaboration has been established with the Police of the Czech Republic. Together with the Police leadership, Agate is contributing to the reform of police logistics by developing analytical models to evaluate and improve patrol response times. The first stage of the project is already underway using real operational data provided by the Police, with further research planned on dynamic patrol deployment.
Through these collaborations, Agate is creating a strong foundation for applying algorithmic game theory to practical societal challenges while strengthening links between academia, public institutions, and industry.
